(fanduel) NFL Profiles: Houston Texans

2024-25 NFL Computer Predictions and Rankings texans profiles houston fanduel

The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston. The Texans compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division. The team plays its home games at NRG Stadium. The Texans are the youngest expansion team in the NFL, having only been competing in the NFL since 2002. For that reason, they have not had the history or the reputation on which to build classic rivalries like the ones that often exist between older franchises.

To both complement and supplement Fanduel’s Super Bowl odds, we will be documenting all the key facts and figures surrounding your favorite teams. We will uncover the history, statistics, and relevant landmark moments. Alongside that, we uncover both players and staff from the current regime and days gone by to provide the overall fan-focused article you desire. Fun Facts

  • Battle Red Day: On Battle Red Day the team wears the red alternate jerseys and fans are encouraged to wear red to the game. Starting in 2007 and including 2008, this included the Texans wearing red pants along with the red jerseys.
  • Pre-Kickoff Tradition: Before each kickoff at a home game, the Texans will run a short clip of a raging bull thrashing the opponent of the week. The video is paired with the AC/DC song “Thunderstruck”.
  • Bull Pen: The sections behind the north end zone of NRG/Reliant Stadium are known as the Bull Pen. Some of the most avid Texans fans attend games in the Bull Pen and regular members have helped create and implement fan traditions, songs and chants, such as:
  1. Holding up giant Texans jerseys while the visiting team’s players are announced
  2. Turning their backs on the opposing team after they score
  3. Tailgating in the purple lot, the parking zone with the most barbecue for sale by fans and vendors
  4. Gathering as a group for tailgating in the NW corner of the Platinum Lot of Reliant Stadium at the “Blue Crew” tailgate and conducting the Bull Pen Toast every game approximately an hour and a half prior to kickoff

Lamar Jackson Pushes Baltimore Towards Concerted Super Bowl Push

2024-25 NFL Computer Predictions and Rankings style pushes lamar jackson color baltimore 011369 Such is the current run of form shown by Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson that even on his relative ‘off-days,’ he still manages to set new high standards.

Though he only managed to throw for 167 yards (a season-low), Jackson led the Ravens to a 34-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, which represented his 35th NFL win, and that’s the most victories a player has accomplished by the age of 25.

Jackson was his usual down-to-earth self when informed of this feat, remarking;

“That’s pretty cool, I guess,” Jackson said. “I don’t know what to say after that. It’s cool. Gotta keep going.”

The win over their divisional rivals leaves the Ravens at 5-1 and a decent-looking bet to go long into the postseason. At sidelines.io, you can currently find odds of (+1000) on the Ravens to win the Super Bowl, and those odds have come in a great deal due to the great form shown by John Harbaugh’s side.

The season didn’t start so brightly, the Ravens losing in overtime to the Las Vegas Raiders before racking up wins over the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and the Los Angeles Chargers.

It’s now nine years since the Ravens came up short, just in their Super Bowl defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, and since then, they’ve had their ups and downs. For three years on the spin, they’ve come up short in the postseason and will want to get back to winning ways when it counts most.

There is a concern with some that Ravens have developed into something of a one-man team, though perhaps that’s a cross that’s worth bearing. There has been a groundswell of opinion among pundits, who have repeatedly stated that this might be the year that the NFL works out how to nullify Jackson, this season, it hasn’t proven the case.

Jackson is now into his fourth season at the M&T Bank Stadium, and his regular-season record of 35-8 is mighty impressive. In the postseason, that record drops to 1-3, and that’s an issue that must be reversed if the 2019 NFL MVP is to capture the trophy he really wants.

That win over the Chargers, when Jackson had a bad day, is perhaps a sign that the Ravens know how to win ‘ugly’. Early season favorites the Kansas City Chiefs have started poorly and now the talk is of the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers being the teams most likely to push for Super Bowl glory, but no one should rule out this Ravens side.

Jackson is very much the key man as Harbaugh pushes for the Super Bowl crown and though he has his doubters, not many can deny his abilities.

Lest we forget that Jackon recently became the fastest player in NFL history to rack up 5000 passing yards AND 2500 rushing yards, doing so in the space of three seasons. The numbers don’t lie, Lamar Jackson IS that good, and greatness is surely on the cards.

Best NFL Teams for 2021/2022

2024-25 NFL Computer Predictions and Rankings teams style color 011369

With the NFL in full swing, we are ready to produce the Super Bowl winner odds for 2021/2022. The teams below are the best in the season and will likely give you some great chances for superb wins!

Los Angeles Rams

In the first three games of the season Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp made an unbelievable play. Their connections have been sublime and even lead FOX Sports to declare the Rams the best NFL team after 3 weeks! Although they have lost some of their stride as the season continued, they are still creating waves in the fans.

This season, Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams have really made a name for themselves, genuinely focusing on their defense. Their ability to join together and lock in the opposing team’s receiver has given the Rams the edge they need to get every touchdown!

We expect to see Los Angeles make it all the way to the Super Bowl, but there are some other teams hot on their tails.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers lost their match against the Rams in a close game, but the bookmakers are still giving them high odds to win. In fact many people class Tampa Bay as a favorite!

It isn’t a surprise when you look at their team, Tom Brady is a living legend. But our hero among men is beginning to slip off his pedestal. His offense has never been a problem, but their secondary is showing some signs of weakness. Having allowed 338 passing yards to slip though per game, these numbers are the second worst in the league. Brady is expected to bounce back and save the day, so their odds haven’t dropped too far yet!

Arizona Cardinals

One of the best offensive players in the league is Arizona’s own Kyle Murray. As a team they are ranking third best for nets yards per game with their current number as high as 432. Murray is playing so well that we wouldn’t be surprised if he became an MVP candidate!

Of course, a team is only as good as their weakest player, but no one is showing signs of slipping yet. All of Arizona’s offensive options are on high alert, and the backfield players Chase Edmonds and James Conner have been sharing touches as great team players throughout the season.

This is why Arizona is such a threat! With a team so strong, Murray could throw the ball to anyone! Their opposing team has to stay on their toes!

Cleveland Browns

This season the Cleveland Browns have been a proper balance of offense and defense! Although they lost their first game in week one against the Chiefs, their game was strong, and they have tightened their defense since.

Their leader Myles Garrett has developed a strong pass rush which has pushed the team to a high ranking with 4.0 sacks per game!

The mighty duo Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb have become a force of their own, being virtually unstoppable like a tornado on the field!

As the season progresses, the Browns are getting stronger and stronger!

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have had a slow start, barely keeping ground but still hanging on. They have been a fantastic team to watch, and although they are ranked 27ths in the turnover, Patrick Mahomes is the reason most of us still have hope. The powerful quarterback is leading the team through the darkness and back into the game. All he needs to do is keep the ball in their hands and encourage the defensive to hold their ground!

They are closing the gap on their biggest competitors, and we cannot wait to see how this amazing team will pull through!
